Business development gets “social” with launch of partnering360®

Suddenly a new world of connected partnering opened for business development executives participating in BIO-Europe® 2011 even as they moved between real-world meetings with colleagues.

Parallel worlds converged here in real time as partnering360®, the largest online community for life sciences with 14,000 pre-registered contacts, was activated during an event where 3,000 participants were physically present for what has grown to become Europe’s largest partnering event.

It was an unprecedented moment that met with immediate success.

Within 24 hours of launching the partnering360 network, one in six participants at BIO-Europe had logged on to activate their accounts. More than 600 connections between participants were confirmed while a further 1,400 requests for connections with business contacts were pending.

At the partnering360 lounge on the exhibition floor, executives participating in BIO-Europe crowded the demonstrations screens, exploring the features and functions.

Comparisons to LinkedIn were inevitable. The newly connected members of partnering360 were pleased to see a one-click function to invite their contacts from the general business community on LinkedIn to join them in the more targeted life sciences partnering community.

They also discovered that partnering360 offers expanded functions to enhance the community experience with a capability to add media files, such as company presentations or videos.

As most executives were also logged into partneringONE® at BIO-Europe, the engine that powers their one-to-one meeting requests and organizes their daily meeting schedules, the integration of the two partnering systems was another pleasant discovery.
