BioTech Forum opens door to dealmaking in Scandinavia

July 27th, 2010

Covering all therapeutic areas and supported by both industry and universities across northern Europe, BioTech Forum has quickly become the most important event for the life sciences in Scandinavia.

Taking place this year in Copenhagen, September 28–30, 2010 in the heart of Medicon Valley (the biotech cluster of the Öresund region), BioTech Forum is on track to draw a substantial number of participants.

Opportunities for networking will be further intensified at the Bella Center as this year’s event is being held in conjunction with ScanLab, an exhibition featuring more than 200 companies from northern Europe’s laboratory industry.

Together the events are expected to draw 6,000 participants to the Bella Center. Participants registered for BioTech Forum have reciprocal passes to visit the exhibition floor at ScanLab to see company booths or view product demonstrations.

Considered the gateway to dealmaking in Scandinavia, BioTech Forum is a partnering event powered by partneringONE® from EBD Group.

While one plenary session and several seminars will be offered, the focus of the event is on creating opportunities for all types of partnering between pharma, biotech and providers.

“Last year was our first time with partneringONE and it was a big step forward,” says Emelie Nord, Event Manager of BioTech Forum. “People who have been with us since we began said they immediately noticed the difference.”

“Many participants knew the system from other EBD Group events they have attended and were very pleased and comfortable with the features,” she says. “Others who came onto the system for the first time commented on how professional and thorough partneringONE is for finding other people at the event and scheduling meetings in just a click.”

New this year at BioTech Forum are company presentations where various biotechnology, midsize and large pharmaceutical companies will present their products, technologies and licensing or alliance opportunities in 15-minute presentations to potential partners.

Exclusively for readers of partneringNEWS BioTech Forum has extended the deadline for applying for a company presentation slot to August 20, 2010. Register here.

“I can see by the pace of registrations that companies are more confident than they were at this time last year,” she says. “Based on my conversations with people inquiring about the event I am confident that BioTech Forum will be a successful event.”
