The hunt for innovation in medical technology moves to Leipzig June 1–2, 2010 as EuroMedtech™ kicks off two days of partnering meetings.

An unparalleled opportunity for close collaboration among medtech decision makers and investors, EuroMedtech attracts companies from all parts of the advanced medical technology industry, including diagnostics, imaging, orthopedics, cardiovascular, biomaterials and eHealth technologies.

Against the backdrop of a provocative conference program, participants will engage in a series of meetings with potential partners or investors. Last year’s edition saw over 250 delegates from 191 companies engage in 652 one-to-one partnering meetings to discuss financing, licensing opportunities or collaborations for advancing product development and distribution to international markets.

A panel of CEOs in the opening plenary session will take on key issues in a discussion centered on the ‘Pulse of the Industry’. Heinrich Christen with Ernst & Young will present a newly updated 24-month review of market conditions as a starting point with a special focus on European trends and developments.

Olivier Litzka from Edmond de Rothschild Investment Partners has organized a panel discussion on investment in medtech from two opposing points of view, ‘From the eyes of the funders and funded’.

Other panel sessions will describe developments in European Union for medtech regulation, pricing and reimbursement, as well as for product trends in regenerative medicine, orthopedics and advanced materials, and in service that can accelerate telemedicine and eHealth markets in Europe.

In therapeutic categories, panel sessions will take on ‘Prevention, screening, early diagnosis and IVDs’, as well as ‘Mitigating risk and maximizing rewards in interventional cardiology’.

A significant feature of EuroMedtech is the series of 15-minute presentations by innovative medical technology companies that  this year have attracted a strong attendance by venture capitalists, early stage investors and institutional financing funds.

The event also features the sophisticated, web-based partnering system, partneringONE®, the industry’s leading conference networking solution from the conference producer, EBD Group. The system enables delegates to efficiently mine a large pool of potential partners and pre-arrange private one-to-one meetings.
